Found this anchor above a 70m waterfall...
A powerful reminder to NEVER IMMEDIATELY TRUST IN-SITU ANCHORS.
Do your own inspections. Replace when necessary.
There are many things wrong with this anchor. Especially problematic is the fact that it was found within an area that is not technically open for access yet.
Here are two things which will continue to hinder our efforts to open up access to venues in Korea:-
1. Needlessly unsafe practices (e.g. dangerous anchors) 2. Destruction of the environment (e.g. littering)
I also picked up a lot of trash around this anchor, which was really disheartening considering the remoteness of the location. It takes effort to reach this spot; I would have thought anyone capable of getting there would have cared enough to carry out their rubbish.
